As the summer is approaching, so it is the right time to suggest you some cool, refreshing, tasty and yet healthy drink. And I found no other choice other than BUTTER-MILK to recommend you.
It is delicious to drink and beneficial for our physiological system.

1. Buttermilk - Is a fermented dairy product. Basically, it the leftover liquid after the
                         butter is churned out from the milk. The name "buttermilk" is contrary to its meaning because buttermilk is completely devoid of butter. It is much lower in fat from regular milk but contains protein, calcium and other nutrients. Buttermilk is also free from fiber. Its a wonderful digestive beverage.This drink is also know as "Chaas".
(People who are in diet, they drink chaas in regular basis. As it keeps the person energetic because of its high calorie content plus its immense nutritional value).
Types of butter-milk:   There are 2 types of butter-milk:
    i)  Cultured Butter-milk
  ii)  Home-made Butter-milk

i) Cultured Butter-milk is the processed or else pasteurized product, found in grocery or in online stores like Big-Basket, Grofers , Amazon Pantry, Reliance Smart, Flipkart grocery  etc.

It is very simple to make butter-milk at home.
                                               
In a bowl, take yogurt, add little amount of cumin powder, ginger, kadi patta, little black-salt and whisk it well. Then add chilled water (because chilled water is more refreshing in summer) and mix it well. Also to add taste, coriander leaves can be used as toppings. It adds a good fragrance as well.
 The Chaas is ready to survive and consume.

3. Nutritional values of butter-milk:

i) Butter-milk is the best tool for dehydration. Its hydrates the body because of the presence of cool water, yogurt, ginger, pepper. This drink hydrates our body and keeps our basal temperature normal.

ii) Its reduces fat.

iii)Its also aids in reduction of bad cholesterol.

iv) Helps in the digestion process because of the essential condiments it has in it like (peeper, ginger, black salt). This chaas helps to digest our foods that we intake.

v) It reduces the blood sugar level.

vi) It is one of the best drink for lactose intolerant people because they cannot drink regular milk or may be acidic towards other dairy products. Butter-milk is the best solution for them as they get all the vital nutrients through it like Calcium, Proteins, Potassium, Vitamins, even vitamins B Complex.

vii) Chaas helps in making the bones stronger as it is a good source of calcium.

viii) It aids against acidity. Buttermilk cools the stomach and reduces the irritation in the stomach lining due to acid reflux, relieving the discomfort. Even it helps in cooling down the burning sensation that happens to be in the chest and throat.
4. When is the right time to consume butter-milk:

Firstly everyday you can consume this magic drink. The best time to consume butter-milk is after meals. Sometimes you can carry this homemade buttermilk in a bottle and you can take it into your  office. You can have it between meals. After a long day, you can take it as a refreshing drink.
